  Steven Long, son of Berry Long, Lead Driver in Wilmington, NC has joined the Marines. He is scheduled to leave for boot camp January 4th, 2010.
Jesse Long, son of Berry Long, Lead Driver in Wilmington, NC joined the Marines in his senior year of high school. He is scheduled to leave after graduation in July 2010.
  SSG David Sherman is a Compactor and Truck Technician at the Garner, NC branch. SSG Sherman began his military career in 1985 in the US Navy as an Engineman. In 1990, he transferred to the Navy Construction Battalion at Little Creek Amphibious Base with the Mobile Inshore Underwater Warfare Unit 206 as a Construction Mechanic. In 1998, he entered the NC Army National Guard in Roxboro, NC at 732nd Maintenance Company and in early 2003, deployed to Taji, Iraq for 16 months. He returned with the 1452nd Combat Heavy Equipment Transportation Co, Detachment I Butner, NC. He currently attends Piedmont Community College seeking his degree in Electrical Engineering. SSG Sherman is due to deploy again possibly to Iraq within the year, hopefully to bring the remainder of the troops and heavy equipment back home.
SSG Lucius Jackson, Army Reserve and Mechanic for Branch 84, Clarksville, TN deployed to Iraq in April 2008. Lucius has many decorations, medals and ribbons as evidence of his dedication and devotion to his country. Lucius has served his country proudly for 23 years in the US Army. He returned home safely to his family and co-workers in March 2009. Welcome Home Lucius! We are so proud of you and all the other soldiers who have sacrificed time from their families to protect our freedom and safety.
  Lieutenant Clint McPherson, husband of Tiffany McPherson (Financial Analyst – General Ledger Department). Clint joined the Army in March 2009 and has completed Officer and AirborneSchool. He is currently in Columbus, GA at Fort Benning completing his Infantry Officer training.
Staff Sergeant Joseph Henry Abbott, is the nephew of Linda A. Vick, CSR at the Henderson branch. Joey enlisted in the army in February of 2003 and reenlisted in 2007 while serving a fifteen month tour of duty in Iraq. He plans on making a career of his army life. He and his wife Sherry are currently living at Fort Bragg, NC. Our family is very proud of Joey and would like to say “Thank You” to him and all the soldiers who give there all for our country. May God keep them in his care.  
  Shane Faulkwell is a Sergeant with the U.S. Airforce currently stationed at Aviano AB, Italy. He has been of service to our great country since December 1993. Shane is a father of two, and the brother of Jim Faulkwell Salesman for the Tri-East area in NC.
Mallory Ruszczyk-Raum is now home from Iraq and both her and her husband Anthony will be expecting the arrival of their first child, Anabelle Marie, in January 2010.  Anthony will be deploying shortly after with Mallory joining him later in the year for her third deployment.  Grandma and Grandpa will care for Anabelle until both mom and dad make it safely home around Christmas.   Chris Jones – 20 years old, rank E3, son of Rusty Jones, Operations Supervisor in Cedartown GA joined the Marines in July of 2008. Chris deployed to Afghanistan in October of 2009 and is expected to return some time around May/June of 2010. We want Chris to know that we love him and are VERY proud of him and the decisions he has made. Most of all we pray for his safe return back home. Karlie Sowder (left in picture)– 19 years old, rank E4, step daughter of Rusty Jones, joined the Army National Guard in January of 2007. Karlie received the GMS scholarship and is currently enrolled in the Nursing program at North Georgia College and State University . Karlie is the first cadet to be on the cheerleading competition team at her college and loves the college life. (Submitted my Rusty Jones, Operations Supervisor in Cedartown, GA)
  Robert Rhodes is a 1st Sergeant in the Marines; with 20 years in the Marines. He has served our country in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Irac and recently retired from the US Marines in 2009. Christopher Rhodes is a Sergeant in the Marines; he has been enlisted now for 4 years and recently re-enlisted for 5 more years. He is also on his 2nd tour of duty in Iraq. Robert & Christopher are nephews of Pam Schaard, IT Director. “Our family is very proud of these men; they are carrying on a long standing Marine Corps family tradition of serving our country that goes back to their grandfathers who fought in WWII and their fathers who fought in the Vietnam War.”
Key Winkler, Central Division HR Manager has returned from active duty in the Air National Guard and is now retired. Key was a MSGT and a member of the 145thAW and served at Balad Air Base, 40 miles North of Bagdad, Iraq as a Surface Freight and Hazardous Materials Supervisor. He is proud to serve his country with over 19 years in the Air Force. 
David Tubbs returned home just before Christmas of 2007 after serving two tours in Iraq. David will graduate from LSUA in May 2010, which will have been a two year tour through college.  He has gone through college at such an accelerated rate, taking 20-21 hours per semester, in order to save his GI bill for law school.  In addition to his schedule, David has maintained a 4.0 grade point average. David occasionally travels with the debate club, and has recently won first place.  He also writes for the school paper.  His mother and I are quiet proud of him. SFC Gregory Smith of Clayton N.C. is currently stationed at Wiesbaden Army Air Field in Germany .  He has been in Grafoenwor, Germany training for an upcoming deployment.  His near future plans are to return to Clayton for Thanksgiving and spend time with his family. We were grateful to get to spend time with Greg & his wife during Thanksgiving and now that he has returned to Germany he will be getting ready for his deployment for 18months. Greg is the brother of Melissa Smith, National Accounts AP Representative and Sister-in-law of Michele Smith, Mid-South Area Admin Assistant. (Submitted by Melissa Smith, National Accounts).
  Will Bostic, Shop Forman at the Roseboro facility was deployed to Iraq in October of 2008. Will is a Specialist in the US Army. Craig Johnson, Shop Manager at Hope Mills, NC, states, “He has been a great asset and we will definitely miss him and what he does.”
Lt. Edward C. Brown, Navy Seal, cousin of Charles Scales, Account Sales Manager in the Greenville-Spartanburg area of SC, is currently deployed to points unknown. When Edward returns, he plans on helping his wife, Nancy, welcome their second child and play with his son who will be 17 months old.
  John Pfleger, an Environmental & Safety Specialist, is a Navy Reservist, (Rate: AME, Rank: E-6) currently in active drill status (not deployed). He drills at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach.
Colonel Charles Stokes, the father of Camie Noonan, Sales Representative in Hope Mills, NC, and brother, Captain Danny Stokes, are both overseas in the US Army. Colonel Stokes is currently deployed in an undisclosed area and Captain Stokes is on his 3rd tour of duty in Iraq. Their plans when they return home are to continue serving the country that they love. Camie’s message to her father and brother is that she loves them both and is proud to say they are her family.
  Bradley Gann, son-in-law of David and Carolyn Peck, Fleet Manager and Purchasing Manager at the Home Office, is a LTJG, Naval Officer on active duty. Bradley was deployed for Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in October of 2008 for a minimum of seven months. When he returns he plans to spend as much time with family as possible. “We love him and will miss him terribly. We pray that God will keep him safe along with the other thousands of men and women away from their families.”
