On February 5, 2008, Waste Industries celebrated the opening of the South Wake Landfill with a ribbon cutting ceremony.  The landfill is set to open on February 7, 2008 and is expected to last 25 years.  The celebration allowed attendees to tour the site and see the various pieces of equipment used to operate the landfill.  Thank you to everyone that made this event a success!
